Faith Formation

spacer

Ongoing faith formation is essential to accomplish our mission to evangelize and transform the world into a more caring and just society. This does not end at confirmation or graduation but continues until one's death.
Our Hearts Were Burning Within Us by the US Catholic Bishops

Adult Formation Speakers

Each year the Adult Formation Committee offers a series of  lectures designed to enrich our knowledge and understanding of the Catholic faith. The lecture series generally  tries to include the topics of ecumenism, scripture, current  theology, church history and social justice.
The committee works hard to identify and invite the most qualified speakers from the greater Milwaukee area to address these topics.  These lectures are offered on Sunday mornings and are free and open to the public.  The next Adult Formation speakers will be:
Sunday, September 26, 2010:  On Buddhism; Dr. Paul Norton
Sunday, October 17, 2010:  On John Henry Newman; Fr. Bill Kelly
Sunday, November 14, 2010:  Modern Popes; Dr. Neal Pease

Contemplative Prayer

Centering Prayer is a method designed to facilitate the development of Contemplative Prayer. In the Christian tradition Contemplative Prayer is considered to be the pure gift of God. It is the opening of mind and heart - our whole being to God. The source of Centering Prayer, as in all methods leading to Contemplative Prayer, is the indwelling Trinity: Father, Son, and Holy Spirit. The focus of Centering Prayer is the deepening of our relationship with the living Christ. The Centering Prayer group at St. Robert meets on Wed. mornings at 9:15. For more information call Barbara Prendergast at 414-964-1268.

Dogma and Donuts

Are you interested in learning more about your faith with other men in an informal group setting?  Then Dogma and Donuts is right for you.  D&D was started over four years ago by a small group of men from St. Robert in order to help men better understand our faith.  We study scripture and other works that help us to better understand our Catholic faith, history, and ttraditions .  If you would like to join us, we meet the last Friday of every month at 6:30 am in the Church Basement.  Dogma, coffee, and donuts are provided for each meeting!  If you would like to attend, please contact David Mitchell.

Small Faith Communities

A Small Faith Group meets on a monthly basis in members' homes to study Scripture and the issues they raise in our beliefs and daily lives. For more information, or suggestions for starting a group of your own, please contact Neal Pease at 963-1098.
