The 100 House Campaign

In 2010, Milwaukee Habitat for Humanity received a three year Neighborhood Stabilization Program 2 grant from the U.S. Department of Housing and Urban Development. Milwaukee is one of only a handful of communities receiving these funds, and they will allow Milwaukee Habitat to build 100 affordable homes on foreclosed properties. Milwaukee Habitat has also committed to a three year campaign to raise $6.5 million to match these grant funds.

St. Robert is proud to join with Milwaukee Habitat in faith , hard work and giving to help them reach this goal. Let's make a difference in the community while having fun, learning new skills and meeting new people!

What Can I Do?

Oh, there's lots to do, and we need you! St. Robert parishioners can help in two key ways -volunteering their time and talent, and contributing their treasure.  Sign up for our summer 2012 work dates by contacting parishioner Patrick Williams at (414) 241-1889.

Volunteering

• NO EXPERIENCE IS NECESSARY:

On-site training is provided for all phases of construction . New or experienced volunteers are welcome year-round, but most work is done April-September.

• AGE REQUIREMENTS:

You must be at least 16 years old to volunteer on-site; youth 16-17 years old must be accompanied by an adult supervisor. Youth groups are welcome, but with a 4 to 1 youth to adult supervisor ratio.

• LEADERS WANTED:

Milwaukee Habitat also needs volunteers to serve as house leaders and or crew leaders. House leaders supervise and organize all of the crew leaders and volunteers throughout the course of the build. Crew leader teaches groups of volunteers basic construction skills.
