Passage of the Freedom of Choice Act would eliminate a broad range of existing laws that limit abortion, including informed consent, parental involvement, and prohibition of late-term abortions (partial-birth abortion). FOCA forces taxpayers to fund abortions and violates the conscience rights of nurses, doctors, and hospitals. Please join us for a postcard-writing campaign to our senators and representatives on Sunday, January 18, after the 8:30 am Mass (at the beginning of InLight in the gym) and after the 5:30pm Mass. Check back here for the location and for more dates and times which will become available.
All are invited to pray the rosary at 6:30 pm and 7:00 pm Mass and reception with Bishop William Callahan, at St. Monica Parish in Whitefish Bay on Thursday, January 22, 2009, the 36th anniversary of the Roe v. Wade. Attendees will also have an opportunity to participate in a legislative postcard campaign against the Freedom of Choice Act. St. Monica is located at 160 E. Silver Spring Dr. For more information, please contact Kathy Shine at 414-758-2285.

This group’s primary goal is to increase awareness of the dignity and sanctity of life and to promote respect for human life at every stage from conception to natural death. Members of this Committee take part in such activities as the annual Life Chain, hosting guest speakers, sponsoring a collection of baby items for at-risk mothers in October, and ministry of prayer (the Spiritual Adoption program). New members are always welcome. Please call the Parish Office, 414-332-1164, to get involved.
Each October, St. Robert parishioners collect baby items for families who seek help from the Pregnancy Help Center of Milwaukee. Items needed include onesies and clothing for infants and toddlers, receiving blankets, baby booties, etc.
