Fr. Augustine’s
sister writes, “We
are grateful for the kind hearts of the people of
St. Robert. The parishioners here at Bakijjulula are not only happy about the School,
but they have also learned about sharing.
When I took them
the books, it was a big excitement from the
parents and the students.
Thank you for sharing with us.”
Thanks to generous contributions from
St. Robert parishioners and friends, a
new school building is being construction for St. Jude Primary School in the village
of Baakijjulula, Uganda. The new school building will accommodate classrooms
for seven grades, offices for staff, and a teacher workroom. Three of the rooms
will convert into space for a chapel for the village.

Thanks to contributions from St. Robert parishioners
and the work of Fr. John Mary, a large truck-size load of
up-to-date textbooks was sent to the library of the
Royal Muteesa University in Masaka.
Most of the textbooks are in the fields of math and science.
The library will be used not only by university students
but also by local residents.
The US Catholic community's resources are
hard at work in Uganda. While St. Robert's
delegation visited Uganda in June of 2008,
the group met with CRS staff and saw their work
first hand at a hospital in Masaka. This is thanks to donations to Operation Rice Bowl during Lent and
CRS throughout the year. Thank you!
