July 2010 School Supplies Drive
From Saturday, July 17, until Sunday, July 25, the St Vincent de Paul Society will sponsor a Back to School Drive.  Needed new items are wide ruled notebooks, colored pens and pencils, wide ruled filler paper, rulers, markers, glue sticks, large pink erasers, glue bottles, single colored pocket folders.  Please bring items to church with you and leave in the labeled bins.  Help kids start school on the right foot!


August 2010 Fifth Sunday Collection
August's Fifth Sunday Collection is designated for St. Robert's Conference of the St. Vincent de Paul Society.  Thank you for the donations that go directly to help those in emergency need in our immediate area. 


Walk for the Poor
Date:  Saturday, September 25, 2010
Time:  Mass at 9:30 am; Walk beginning at 10:30 am
Location:  St. Francis Seminary, 3257 S. Lake Dr. in St. Francis.
Walk:  Either 1-mile or 3-mile along the Oak Leaf Trail

Join the St. Vincent de Paul Society!
Poverty exists, although perhaps hidden at times, in St. Robert's neighborhood. Several times per month, the Parish Office or the Central Office of St. Vincent de Paul is contacted by people in our immediate area in need of financial help. The St. Vincent de Paul Conference is St. Robert's main outreach to people who are financially in need. Members visit those who ask for help and distribute gift cards to a local grocery store or bus passes, as needed. Currently there is a need for more members to help with this outreach. Meal Program
For the past 30 years, St. Robert has sponsored a meal at St. Vincent de Paul (formerly St. Gall) on the first Thursday of every month.  We are in need of three or four more volunteers to prepare baked chicken, either as a substitute or as a monthly cook.  One of our cooks is retiring after 25 years and another is away.  If you are interested or have questions, please call MaryAnn Mathews at (414) 964-3926.  Thank you!


You know those cylinders in church?
Loose change placed in the cylinders at each church entrance goes to our St. Vincent de Paul Society Conference which assists people in our area who are in economic need. The St. Vincent de Paul Conference is St. Robert's main outreach to people in financial need. Members visit those who ask for help by providing some assistance (bus passes, grocery cards, or vouchers for clothing or furniture). Learn more at: St. Vincent de Paul Society. Gently used furniture and household items in good condition may be donated to the St. Vincent de Paul Society. Please call Cindy at 462-7863 to schedule a pick up.


Help Wanted at the Vincent Family Resource Center
The Vincent Family Resource Center (2610 N. Martin Luther King Drive in Milwaukee) is in need of volunteer assistance with the following projects:
--Cleaning toys and preparing child care area
--General filing and organizing
--Child care on weeknights
--Facilitating Circle of Women support group
--Helping with the Girl Power group
