Have you ever thought of becoming a liturgical minister? The Church invites every Christian to "full, active, and conscious participation" as a member of the congregation. Some members of the congregation help lead various aspects of the liturgy:
Christmas Eve, December 24: Masses at 4:30 pm, 8:00 pm, 11:00 pm
Christmas Day, December 25: Mass at 9:00 am
Solemnity of Mary: (December 31: Mass at 4:30 pm); January 1: Mass at 9:00 am

Teenagers and children, beginning in grade 5, are invited to be trained as altar servers. Altar servers serve weekday and/or weekend Masses. Experienced altar servers are invited to serve wedding liturgies. Servers arrive about 20 minutes prior to the liturgy they are serving, dress in an alb and cincture, check in with the presider, and help set up for Mass. Greeters/Ushers welcome people as they enter church and help distribute orders of worship as needed. They also assist in taking up the collection and inviting members of the congregation to take up the gifts. As Mass ends, they distribute bulletins and greet people as they leave church. Interested? Lectors prepare readings prior to each Mass, then proclaim the first and second readings, lead the Prayers of the Faithful, and read any parish announcements at the end of Mass. Lectors carry the Book of the Gospels in procession as Mass begins and carry it out as Mass concludes. Training and a lector workbook with explanations of each text are provided. Eucharistic Ministers assist the priests (and deacons, where applicable) with the distribution of Holy Communion. At St. Robert, seven lay Eucharistic Ministers are scheduled for each weekend Mass. St. Robert is currently looking for more Eucharistic Ministers. To volunteer, click here.
This ministry endeavors to meet the needs of the sick and elderly and other persons by providing home visiting, prayer and communion visits to the hospitalized, homebound, nursing home residents, those in crisis of any kind, transportation needs, agency referrals, family emergency needs. More volunteers are always welcome to help expand this much needed ministry. Training and support is provided under the leadership our Pastoral Associate, Claire Anderson.

Those qualified as lay persons to preside at weekday Liturgy of the Word and Communion Services are people who have provided spiritual and liturgical leadership in the community over an established period of time. They are selected by parish staff for this role.
