The 2008 volleyball season at St. Robert was a great success for all our players and coaches. Many thanks to Kyle Cramer, Colleen Eimers, Lynn Frieseke, Kate Jurgens, Dennis Reilly, Bridget Stewart, Lisa Vanden Heuvel and John Wittkowske for the countless hours of coaching, helping to support the goals of the Athletic Association by providing a competitive environment guided by Christian values and improving youth fitness through participation in our programs. Our coaches do not get credit for their hours of volunteer time but their time and talent is very much appreciated. As a wrap-up to the year:
- The 5th grade girls both faired well in their season-ending tournament. Both teams showed great spirit and enthusiasm in this tough sixteen team tournament. These girls will be fun to watch as they grow!
- The 5th grade boys finished their volleyball season in style, having a bump, set and hit almost every point. It was a great season where the boys developed an excellent foundation on which to build upon. Thank you for a great season 5th grade boys! From Coach Reilly
- The 6th grade girls played some amazing matches during the St. Dominic's Year End extravaganza last Saturday and Sunday. The fourteen girls on this team combined to bring home first place medals in the Gold division - they were awesome! Congratulations Lady Bobcats!
- The 6th grade boys finished very strong too! After a crazy set of matches on Saturday, the Bobcats came back focused on Sunday to finish the season with two impressive match wins, and to take first place in the Silver division. Congratulations to the entire team for a solid finish!
- The 7th grade girls played six matches during their last weekend of play, eventually taking second in a strong 7th grade tournament.
- The 7th grade boys played made it to the Gold bracket in their end-of-season tournament but weren't able to bring home the medal on Sunday. The team had a wonderful year overall though.
Volleyball fans - mark your calendars for the Spring Athletic Banquet, which is scheduled to take place on April 1, 2009.
