Basketball
- The season has begun! We are very excited for all of our 14 teams we have playing this season.
- Here are updates from our teams:
- The 8th grade girls Notre Dame team stumbled to a 37-31 loss in the first round of the St. Mary Hales Corners tournament to a St. Joan of Arc team that got hot with its 3-point shooting. The Bobcats bounced back with three strong games, winning handily in their last league game to finish with a 7-4 conference record (tied for third place) and beating St. Joe's of Racine and St. Catherine of Kenosha to take the consolation championship in the tournament. Next up for the Bobcats is their first Padre game on March 4.
- The St. Robert's 8th grade boys traveled to St. Monica's for a rematch of their first league game of the season. The intensity was high from the opening tip as both teams opened up with full court presses. The first half was pretty evenly matched, but St. Robert's had the edge with superior outside shooting and man-to-man defense. The second half was a close one, as St. Robert's 8 point lead turned into a 1 point deficit. After a timeout to regroup, the boys were re-focused enough to secure the victory with a final score of 37-32 improving their league record to 3-6. Their last league game is coming up next week Sunday 4:00pm @ Lumen Christi. The boys will also be hosting the St. Robert's tournament next weekend with games Friday, Saturday, and Sunday night.
- The 7th grade girls secured 1st place in their conference with a nail-biting game against Holy Family. Their 4th quarter free-throws clinched a 16-13 victory. They also won a hard fought 3rd place consolation championship against St Joe Grafton in the St Matthias tournament.
- The 7th Boys Grade A team ran into a very tough USM team and suffered their second loss in league play. They have one more league game and two more tournaments remaining in their season including the St. Robert 8th grade tournament starting this Friday.
- The 5th grade girls white team won their league game on Saturday. The team did not play their best game, but battled to the very end to win by 2 points. The team plays their last league on Sunday at 11:00am at Messmer.
- Most of our teams play in the North Shore Catholic league which can be found at this website http://www.northshorecl.com.
