St. Robert and Holy Family Are Now Teaching Parishes!
St. Robert and Holy Family are now a part of the St Francis de Sales Teaching Parish Program. The primary goal of the Teaching Parish Program within pastoral formation is to better integrate the totality of parish and seminary experiences from the first year to the day of ordination. Seminarians in the Teaching Parish Program are involved in different areas of parish life at some point during the four-year process. We are pleased to introduce you to our Parishes’ first Seminarian, Juan Carlos Altamirano Herrera:
“My name is Juan Carlos Altamirano Herrera, and I am a seminarian from the Diocese of Green Bay in Wisconsin. Currently, I am starting my first year of theology at Saint Francis de Sales Seminary. Though originally from Nicaragua, I have been living in the United States for about seven years. During these past years, I have had the opportunity to meet wonderful people of great faith. Most of them are from my diocese, especially from my home parish Saint Therese of Lisieux in Appleton. Their support, prayers, and encouragement played a significant role in my answering the call to the priesthood.
After having earned an associate’s degree in business management at Fox Valley Technical College in Appleton, Wisconsin, I began my studies in philosophy as a college seminarian at Immaculate Heart of Mary Seminary and Saint Mary’s University in Winona, MN from where, this past May, I earned my bachelor’s degree.
I am very grateful for the opportunity to have Saint Robert and Holy Family Catholic Church as my teaching parish for my next four years of theology formation. I am thankful to Father Enrique Hernandez and the parish communities for welcoming me to St Robert and Holy Family, and I look forward to working with him and meeting all of the parishioners in the next few months.”
The church continues to be open for private prayer from 11:15 am until 1pm Tuesday through Thursday
When you come we ask you to leave the kneeler down so our wonderful maintenance staff knows which pews need more cleaning. Thank you!
Scrip Lives On
The pandemic, with its social distancing, has had a dramatic effect on local businesses. The St. Robert Scrip Program has stepped up to help. We have made large purchases of gift cards from our local businesses. This provides them with capital to help survive this financial stress.
To date, we have made purchases from ………
Bayside Garden Center, Café Corazon, City Market, Colectivo, Culver’s, Harry’s Bar & Grill, Pizza Man, Sendik’s (Balistreri’s) and Sendik’s (Nehrings). More to be added.
Now we need your help. Please buy and use these cards as soon as you can. The sooner you buy them the sooner we can order more. This will help our local businesses survive the drought. And it will help St.Robert via the Scrip income generated from each purchase.
You can purchase these cards as well as our other in stock cards by contacting:
Kathy at email@example.com or 414-962-5691.
Remember, the office may be closed but Kathy’s email is always open. (Stay healthy everyone!)
