Rite of Christian Initiation for Adults and the Rite of Christian Initiation for Children

Rite of Christian Initiation of Adults (RCIA)

The Rite of Christian Initiation of Adults (RCIA) is the Church’s way of guiding adults, who have begun their journey of faith, to complete their initiation into the Catholic Church.

The process is for adults who…

  • have never been Baptized
  • were Baptized in another Christian church and now wish to come into full communion with the Catholic Church
  • were Baptized in the Catholic Church but were not raised in the faith and are seeking to receive the Sacraments of Eucharist and Confirmation.

This process takes place within the community of our parish. It is a gradual process in which parishioners join with candidates for the sacraments in sharing Scripture, building community, celebrating Liturgy, and serving the needs of others. For further information please call Donna Shriner, St. Robert’s RCIA Coordinator, at (414) 332-1164, ext. 3045, or email dshriner@strobert.org.

For those who were baptized Catholic and have received First Communion but who have not yet been Confirmed, see our Adult Confirmation page.

Rite of Christian Initiation for Children (RCIC)

In addition to infant Baptism, St. Robert Parish also offers the RCIA process adapted for older children. Please contact Donna Shriner at the phone number or email above.
