First Reconciliation
“The whole Church, as a priestly people, acts in different ways in the work of reconciliation that has been entrusted to it by the Lord.”
Rites of the Catholic Church
PREPARATION FOR THE SACRAMENT
Initial Preparation
Faith formation (Catechesis) is provided by the Parish Religious Education program and St. Robert School. However, because parents are their children’s primary teachers of the Faith, their example is critical to the preparation of a child for every Sacrament, including the Sacrament of Reconciliation. When was the last time you received Reconciliation? At St. Robert, we offer Reconciliation from 3:30-4:00 p.m. every Saturday, prior to Mass.
Immediate Preparation
Immediately prior to their First Reconciliation, children are prepared through a parent-child orientation session and parent-child home study. Please contact the Parish Office, (414) 332-1164, for details regarding the orientation and resources for home study.
CELEBRATION OF THE SACRAMENT
First Reconciliation usually occurs in early December each year, and is announced on our website and in the Parish Bulletin.
